Human Hair Structure:
Hair grows in three stages. Remember, you never have a full head of hair as some hair is in the resting stage of growth cycle.

Our hair is composed of a protein called Keratin . The hair itself is arranged in three layers, an outer cuticle, middle cortex and central medulla.

Each hair follicle undergoes a different phase of actions. The hair grows to its maximum and then hair growth stops.Hair is shed and new hair is replaced. At a time we can have only 90%(maximum) hair on our head. Rest 10% of our hair is on restung stage.
Human hair has three stages.
Anagen: This is the period of active growth of our hair.
Our hair will grow actively for between one and a half and seven years(three years being an average growth period). The average growth rate is about half an inch per month. On average 90% of follicles are in the anagen stage.
Catagen: The catagen phase is a short transition stage that occurs at the end of the anagen phase. It signals the end of the active growth of a hair. This phase lasts for about 2-3 weeks while a club hair is formed
Telogen: The telogen phase is when a hair is resting. It is the resting phase for hairs on the scalp, usually lasting 3 weeks to 3 months. The resting phase is much longer for hairs on the eyebrows, eyelashes, arms and legs. Approximately 10 to 18 percent of our hairs (approximately 100 to 1000 hairs) are in the telogen phase at any given time.
Tips for healthy Hair:
Usually hair length is based on genetics. When you are African American the life of the hair follicle is short so therefore the strand of hair falls out when the follicle dies, when you are Caucasian the follicle's life is longer therefore the hair can grow longer. This is why you see African Americans with short hair and Caucasian, Asian, Latinas etc. with longer hair. Hair growth depends on how much of one race you have in your blood.
I have found some methods really useful for healthy hair. May be mine is a genitic. But for longer period I had very short hair. Suddenly I felt like grwoing my hair longer.
People do say if you cut your hair short for longer time, it will never grow again. But its not true. Because in my case I did grow my hair long after keeping my hair very short for about 12-13 years.

Food:
Protein: Meat, fish, poultry, milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt & sunflower seeds.
Vitamin A: Butter, eggs, milk, carrots, tomatoes, oily fish, dark green leafy vegetables & apricots.
Vitamin B: Milk, eggs, wholegrain cereals, bread, wheat germs, nuts, soy beans, poultry, fish & meat.
Vitamin D: Sunlight, fish liver oils, oily fish, milk & eggs.
Vitamin C: Blackcurrant, green peppers, citrus fruits, bananas, avocados, artichokes & leafy green vegetables.
Vitamin E: Wheat germ, peanuts, vegetable oils, pulses & green leafy vegetables.
Iron: Spinach, cockles, liver, kidneys, pulses, lentils, beans, peas & dried fruit.
Calcium: Cheese, nuts, eggs, milk, yogurt, sardines & root vegetables.
Iodine: Seafood, dried kelp & iodized salt.
Sulfur: Eggs, meat, cheese & other diary products.
No one can eat all the given food daily. But make sure you cover all the types if possible.

1. Drink lots of warm water.
2. Brush your hair daily 2-3 times gently.
3. Mix 10drops of rosemary oil with 5-6 tsp of olive oil and massage
your head slowly and gently for 10 minutes.
Leave it overnight and wash it off next day morning.

4. Before shampooing you can use any one of theese:
Beat egg and apply on ur head massage gently and rinse it off.
Apply yoghurt, leave it for 10 minutes and rinse it off

5. Use good shampoo and conditionar which suits your hair.

6. When you shampoo your hair, apply shampoo gently and massage your
scalp again very gently.Wash it with warm and then cold water.

7. Before shampooing, make sure you comb your hair.
So that It will remove all dirt from the scalp.

8. Never blow dry your hair. It will damage your hair.

9. When your hair is dry, add 2 drops of rosemary oil on hand and
apply on scalp. It will make your hair shiny.

10. When you shampoo your hair, it is expected to loose lot of hair.

If you cannot do all the method. Make sue you apply rosemary oil and olive oil to your head once in a week
and wash with warm water. Most important thing is cut your split ends every month or two. This helps in growing your hair faster.
